VitalCaring Group Expresses Disappointment in DOJ’s Efforts to Block Merger, Confirms Commitment to Growth and Market Leadership

Dallas, TX — November 12, 2024 — VitalCaring Group today expressed its strong disappointment with the decision by Department of Justice (“DOJ”) to seek to block the merger between UnitedHealth Group and Amedisys, and the related divestiture of key assets to VitalCaring.  VitalCaring believes the merger and divestiture are in the best interest of patients and stakeholders; further, that the DOJ’s presentation of  VitalCaring is incomplete and does not present an accurate assessment of our company.

VitalCaring leadership team is led by the company’s CEO April Anthony, who previously founded and ran leading companies in the home healthcare and hospice sectors, Encompass Home Health and Hospice and Homecare Homebase.  The management team is made up of other industry veterans, with long experience in building and operating large home health and hospice companies.  VitalCaring is owned by Vistria Group, Nautic Partners and Anthony Family Investment Partners, each seasoned and reputable investors, all of whom have demonstrated their unwavering support for the capital needs of the business. With their full backing, VitalCaring is well-positioned to continue driving growth and innovation.

“We are deeply disappointed in the DOJ’s decision to seek to block this strategic transaction,” said April Anthony, CEO, of VitalCaring Group. “Our management team is highly experienced, and our investors are committed to the long-term growth of the company. We are fully prepared to successfully integrate the divested assets into VitalCaring’s operations and to build upon the proven track record of success that this leadership team brings to these markets and this task. The divested assets will be an important part of VitalCaring’s ongoing efforts to expand and enhance our service offerings throughout the US, and we are fully capable of integrating the assets and continuing to be a high quality and highly competitive service provider.”

VitalCaring also reaffirmed its commitment to clinical excellence, with patient care and satisfaction being the company’s top priorities. The company is proud to consistently exceed national averages in both quality and patient satisfaction metrics, and its management team has a long track record of achieving high quality and patient satisfaction scores.  “Clinical quality and patient satisfaction are not just key metrics for us; they are core to our mission and values,” said Janice Riggins, Chief Clinical and Operations Officer.   “We stand behind the quality of our care and are committed to delivering exceptional care every day.  Our patients come first, and we remain fully committed to our mission of transforming lives and fostering hope through genuine caring.”

Finally, VitalCaring reiterated its belief in the critical role the home health and hospice industry plays in the broader healthcare continuum. The company is committed to shaping the future of the industry and continuing to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families across the country.

“The home health and hospice sectors are an integral part of healthcare, and we are excited about the opportunity to further enhance our contribution to this important area of care,” said April Anthony, CEO. “We look forward to continuing to be a leader in this space and to providing exceptional, compassionate care to those who need it most.”
