Our team members are vital to the care we deliver. Meet Andrea, one of VitalCaring’s talented physical therapists in Florida. Physical therapy is a critical part of our home-based program. At VitalCaring, Andrea’s role is to deliver exemplary care while championing her patient’s recovery so that they can have a higher quality of life. We are so fortunate to have Andrea be a part of our team and witness the lives she changes daily.
Andrea is from a very small town in Pennsylvania called Stewartstown “that is barely on the map,” as she refers to it. After receiving her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augstine, Andrea went to work in the outpatient setting where she treated pediatric to geriatric patients with a myriad of acute and chronic conditions.
After working several years in outpatient therapy, she made the move to work in the home health setting with VitalCaring Group in March and so far ‘loves every second of it.’
As a busy mom and avid explorer, Andrea values the time working in this setting affords her with her family. “When I’m not busy being a mom, I love to read, paint, go to the beach, and do anything outdoors,” Andrea said.
A home-based rehabilitation treatment program affords patients many benefits, but also allows great learning experiences for those administering care. When asked what advice she would give to someone interested in pursuing a career in home-based care, Andrea stated, “Don’t hesitate to try something new – there is going to be so much to learn no matter what setting you go into – and the one-on-one care in home health is unmatched.”
The one-on-one treatment programs Andrea has been able to lead have allowed her to work closely with her patients and witness their confidence grow firsthand. “I love restoring a patient’s confidence in themselves following an exacerbation of symptoms or a fall – allowing the patient to gain trust in themselves and do things they didn’t think they were capable of any longer. It’s a beautiful thing.”
