World Alzheimer’s Day: Caring for Patients and Families Together

Each year on September 21, the world observes World Alzheimer’s Day to raise awareness of the disease and its impact on patients and families. At VitalCaring, we provide compassionate Alzheimer’s care at home, hospice services, and caregiver support—helping families navigate this journey with dignity, comfort, and hope.

Supporting Patients and Families Through Grief

Grief manifests uniquely for each individual. For some, it arrives suddenly, overwhelming them like a wave. For others, it unfolds slowly, becoming a quiet ache that settles into daily life. On National Grief Awareness Day, we pause to recognize that grief is not something to “get over.” It is something to navigate, and no one should have to face it alone.

At VitalCaring, we provide compassionate hospice grief support and guidance for families, walking alongside patients through every stage of this journey. Our team offers comfort, compassion, and understanding when it’s needed most.

Why Immunizations Matter for Seniors

For seniors, staying on top of recommended immunizations is one of the most effective ways to prevent serious illness, avoid hospitalization, and continue living fully and independently.

Prioritizing Senior Mental Health: What It Means and Why It Matters

Mental health plays a vital role in our overall well-being at every age—but for seniors, it’s especially important. As we grow older, life changes such as retirement, loss of loved ones, decreased mobility, or chronic illness can affect mental and emotional health in ways that aren’t always obvious. That’s why checking in on mental wellness is just as important as managing physical health.

Home health providers want a cut of Medicare Advantage pay hike

Luke James, President of Vital Caring Group, warns that low Medicare Advantage (MA) reimbursement rates—already challenging—could become unsustainable if tariffs drive up medical supply costs. Serving six southern states, the Dallas-based home health and hospice provider holds about 120 insurer contracts and has already dropped some MA plans due to unviable rates. James emphasized the company’s readiness to exit more contracts unless payers close the gap between MA and traditional Medicare payments, stating, “We’re tired of losing money on every referral.”

Gardening: A Fun and Beneficial Hobby for Older Adults

At VitalCaring, we believe that staying active and engaged is a key part of healthy aging. One enjoyable and therapeutic way to support wellness at home is through gardening. Whether it’s tending to a few potted plants or cultivating a full backyard garden, gardening is a low-impact hobby that offers numerous benefits for older adults—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
